Masood A. Haqq: A Candidate of the People and For the People

As a successful businessman, devoted husband, and father of three, my commitment to faith and family runs deep. My wife, Dr. Jihan, and I own and operate Peace of Mind Pediatrics and Clara Community Health Center, where we serve nearly 5,000 families. I also serve as secretary on the Oklahoma City Black Chamber of Commerce board, chair the Council on American Islamic Relations in Oklahoma, help spearhead the new Eastside Square development on 23rd and Kate, and sit on the NE 23rd Street Enhancement Steering Committee.

But my passion for our community extends beyond my professional life. My children are actively involved in local organizations like Oklahoma City Public Schools, the Eastside Steppers, AET basketball, and On Point Dance Studios, giving me a unique perspective on the needs of our youth and the importance of investing in their future.

A Vision for Ward 7: Revitalization, Community-Driven Development, and Respect for All

As a candidate for the Ward 7 seat on the Oklahoma City Council, I am committed to ensuring that the residents of Ward 7 benefit from the exciting developments on the horizon, including the 2028 Olympics and the arrival of state-of-the-art hotels. I envision revitalizing the 23rd Street corridor into a vibrant destination filled with businesses serving our community’s needs.

I am determined to eliminate nuisance businesses that do not align with our community’s best interests and replace them with enterprises that provide jobs and needed services to members of our community. I am also deeply concerned about the recent cuts to Head Start funding and the systemic mistreatment of our elders. I will advocate for restoring funding to such vital programs and ensuring our seniors receive the dignity and respect they deserve as they age.

I believe that strong families are the backbone of a thriving society, and my values are rooted in the principles of love, respect, and integrity.
